Rain Is No Thing With Frizz Fighting Hair Products

By Jeffrey Brooks

Anyone who wears it long knows the pain of rainy and muggy days if they do not have their frizz fighting hair products nearby. No one is truly safe, as a frizzy do can happen whether worn long or short, male or female. Simply tying it all back can only go so far towards preventing an individual from appearing sloppy or poorly groomed.

Many individuals have gotten into the habit of simply using regular body lotion to tame unmanageable locks. However, this technique can cause their look to go from freakish to limp and greasy looking. Not only that, but those products do not provide any additional benefit. In fact, contrary to what one might think, they can cause it to become brittle.

A product called a smoothing milk has become the favored option for many individuals. This is often advertised specifically to be used with a hair straightener. Smoothing milk is good advice, as these heat straighteners can cause naturally wavy or curly types to become fly-away at the ends and unmanageable in the presence of static.

For those who sport their waves and curls all the time, mousses are an easy and affordable stand-by. Often they will simply smooth a mousse through wet hair and go on about their day, to the envy of anyone who knows how little fuss they endure. Curl enhancing mousses are the way to go for those with curlier looks, especially when one lives in a very humid environment.

For many years gels have been avoided by anyone wishing to have a soft, natural look to their do. In past decades this was good advice; however, consumers are encouraged to revisit this option. A lot has changed since the 1970s and 1980s, and some of the gels on the market today can keep the look smooth without being heavy, greasy, or sticky.

A relatively new concept are oils which are sold as a nutritional supplement for hair. These oils can help tame the fly-away look while also providing protein and keratin supplementation and re-hydration. One is cautioned to use oils in moderation, however, as too much will simply create a greasy sheen.

Shoppers on a budget might try contacting manufacturers directly to see if they can order trial sizes of their product. This technique is so much better than throwing away hundreds of dollars on something that may or may not deliver what it claims. The online community is also a great place to find ratings and conversations by consumers who have already tested an item.

It is vital to point out that ingredients do matter to most people when one is shopping around for options. Many brands still contain petrochemicals which in some cases can cause ill-health or allergic reactions for many people. Parabens and other petroleum products are something many consumers may wish to avoid, so be sure and read the list of ingredients before you buy.
