Proper Diet List For HCG Allowed Food

By Elizabeth Kelly

Unlike the HCG allowed food which has remained present for over forty years, most diet plans change over time due to addition or removal of certain foods. For weight loss, the HCG diet has been placed on the forefront for a couple of times. A doctors watch is however needed in this dieting process because of the low calories present in the food.

During pregnancy, a womans body produces the hormone and therefore the same is sometimes prescribed for women with a difficulty of conceiving. In another area, it is also used by individuals with the need to lose weight by reducing their appetite and getting rid of excessive fat in the body. The hormone can be placed in a humans body through intake of pills or injections or foods which need to contain a minimum of five hundred calories.

First, lean proteins are the foods which have most calories in a diet and provide the body with the hormone. Some of the proteins in discussion include, lean red meat, white meat and poultry. A person is advised to take in seven ounces of protein daily. So as to avoid intake of any fat, one should remove any visible layers of fat before preparing the proteins.

Secondly, an individual under this diet plan is also can consume low calories vegetables, some fruit and carbohydrates mostly during lunch or dinner periods. Some of the listed vegetables include, onions, tomatoes, celery, cucumbers and spinach. The quantities may not be very efficient in providing the minerals and vitamins required but will be quite beneficial in adding fiber and nutrients to the diet.

Thirdly, addition of food flavorings and certain kinds of drinks into the diet plan is also advisable. Examples of the seasonings that act as flavorings are salt, pepper, mustard powder, garlic and vinegar. In addition, the recommended drinks and beverages are water, tea and coffee which have to contain only one tablespoon of milk if need be and should have no sugar.

Solid foods consumption is not allowed before lunch when under that diet plan. For breakfast, it is advisable to consume only tea or coffee which has met the standards set according to the plan. For lunch, one may consume around three and half ounces of proteins such as grilled chicken breasts together with raw vegetables like spinach. For dinner, it should be the same amount of lean proteins, vegetables, fruits and carbohydrates.

Due to lack of evidence to support the functionality of the hormone intake, some concerning issues have been raised regarding the same. In addition, the diet plan does not provide all the nutrients needed daily for all the body activities. More so, due to the low calories present in the meals, it means low energy levels in the body.

Some of the side effects to look out for when taking up this diet plan include ovarian cysts in women, breast enlargement in men and headaches. Anyone who is prone to heart or kidney diseases should not take the hormone. Due to these severe side effects likely to be experienced, a close supervision by a doctor is highly recommended during the dieting process.
