An Effective Way To Get The Best Sun Tan

By Haywood Hunter

Sun creams and sun lotions have proven to be a great way of protecting the skin against the sun when going outdoors to get the best sun tan. Unfortunately, skin cancer is still as rampant as it was a few years ago. As a matter of fact, skin cancer and other diseases of the skin are at a record high today more than ever before. This begs the question as to what the problem could be for all those people looking for the best sun tan.

One of the first mistakes that most people make is in the purchase of sun lotions and creams. For the best sun tan, you have to ensure you invest in a good lotion that will protect you against both UVB and UVA rays. Most of the time, sun lotions will only protect your skin against UVB rays.

UVB rays are rays from the sun that cause sun burns. Creams on the other hand ensure your skin is perfectly protected against the rays that cause melanoma; the worst type of skin cancer. The internet is always a good place to find out the best and top rated sun tan creams and lotions that will help ensure you get the best sun tan.

The second mistake most people make when looking to get the best sun tan is not using a sufficient amount of SPF coverage. No doubt the higher the Sun Protection Factor the better, but you have to ensure you use enough amounts of the sun cream in order to get the rated Sun Protection Factor benefit.

In other words, you could be having a sun cream with an SPF of 45, but if you do not apply the recommended amount, you will only end up subjecting your skin to the harmful ultra violet rays. Apply the recommended amounts of your sun cream or sun lotion and you are sure to get the best sun tan. Take your time to massage it thoroughly and evenly so it can blend and seep into your skin perfectly.

In order to get the best sun tan, you want to ensure that you apply your sun lotion or sun cream within the recommended time frame. Most people make a mistake of applying just when they are about to go outdoors, and forget reapplying thereafter. It is recommended that you apply at least an hour before going outdoors, and then reapply after 60 minutes out in the sun. This is especially important if you will be getting wet.

After getting out under the sun, the second application should be done after an hour or so, which should then be followed by subsequent applications at 2 hour intervals. To most people this could be too tall an order to make, but considering the level of protection one would be getting, and in order to ensure one gets the best sun tan, it is not so much trouble to take.

Last but not least, you can only get the best sun tan when you time your sun bathing. Avoid going out when the sun is extremely hot i. E. Mostly between 12 noon and 3pm. This is the time when the sun intensity is at its strongest, hence can affect your skin significantly. Ensure you remain in protective clothing or go under the shades when you are out and the sun is extremely hot.
